Public Comment Policy

The Gretna Public Library Board encourages residents to share their views about library matters. As such, the Library Board agenda includes time at the end of each meeting for comments from the public regarding any of the matters on the current business agenda. In order for the Board to fulfill its obligation to complete the scheduled agenda in an effective and efficient fashion, the following policy and procedure has been created.
Policy & Procedure:
Getting Started: When it is your turn to speak during the public comment portion of the agenda, please stand up, come forward, sign in with your name and address, and state your name to the Gretna Library Board.
You may speak only one time on any of the current business items and must limit comments to 3 minutes or less. If you would like to speak about a matter or issue not on the agenda, please notify the Gretna Library Board in writing in advance, so that there is time to place the issue on a future agenda. The agenda is closed to new additions on the Monday before the meeting by 12:00 noon.
