Library & Community Center Survey

The City of Gretna is seeking community participation in the planning for a new Library and Community Center facility.  The need for this type of facility was identified in the Gretna Strategic Plan.

As part of a programming and planning study to evaluate current and future facility needs for the community, this survey has been developed.  The survey will allow you, as a community, to provide valuable input into the proposed Library and Community Center planning.

Please click the link below to take the survey.  The online and paper copies of the survey will be available until December 21, 2016.  Paper copies may be obtained at both Gretna Public Library locations, and at City Hall.

The Voice of Native American Women

Nancy Gillis presents The Voice of Native American Women at the Gretna Public Library

We are thrilled to have Nancy Gillis return to our library to share a different Native American presentation. Her The Universal Sacred Hoop presentation was so popular this past summer that she and the attendees continued to talk in our parking lot well after the program had ended.

Be sure to mark this event on our Facebook events page and/or at GretnaEvents.com – you won’t want to miss it!

Friends of the Library Fundraiser

Thanks to Younkers for including the Friends of the Grenta Public Library in their Community Days Event this November!

Stop by either library location between now and November 8th to pick up an incredible coupon book for Younkers for a donation of $5.  The savings are amazing and just in time for your holiday shopping!  Community Days will take place November 9-12 at Younkers (Oak View).

Proceeds will help the Friends purchase new materials for the library and help fund library programs.  This is a great way to help your community AND save some money too!
