At the Gretna Public Library we strive to provide our users the best quality information available.  These databases are a great place to get started on your next research paper or information hunt.

 

NebraskAccess provides you with full-text articles from magazine, journal, and newspaper articles, biographical and business information, genealogical resources, and more.  It also provides access to websites selected by librarians and Nebraska historical resources.

MedlinePlus brings you information about diseases, conditions, and wellness issues in language you can understand.  You can also get links to the latest medical research on your topic or find out about clinical trials on a disease or condition

 America's News 

Ebsco Host supplies users with an easy way to read books online in the form of ebooks, and also has a great biography database.

America’s News allows users to search local, state and national full-text articles including printed and online newspapers, blogs and videos.  Explore issues and events on topics such as business, health, education, government, history, politics and more including the Gretna Breeze, Omaha World-Herald and USA Today. America’s News also includes Current Events and Special Reports sections.

AtoZ World Culture is your one-stop-shop for all the information you ever wanted to know about every country in the world.  Use this to learn about a specific country’s economy, people, traditions, and even favorite past-times.  Search for maps of every kind and even use the nifty citation function to give your reports or project a professional touch.

 

Learning Express Library provides tons of practice tests (GRE, ACT, ASVAB, etc), exercises, skill-building courses, eBooks, and information you need to achieve the results you want—at school, at work, or in life. If you’re doing some job searching, you’ll also find an entire Learning Center dedicated to helping you get the one that’s right for you.

Homework Help Now! is a wonderful resource where students of all ages (elementary thru high school) can interact with live tutors in math, science, reading/writing, social studies, PSAT/SAT, ACT, AP and state standardized tests.  There’s even a writing lab that allows you to get feedback from a professional on your next essay.

 

NoveList Plus is a great place to go when you’re looking for books similar to the one your favorite author wrote or if you’re trying to find the next book in the series you’re reading. You can search by fiction, non-fiction, and even by age. The perfect resource for those who love reading.

DearReader allows you to be part of a book club without ever leaving your home!  Receive books by email according to the subject of your liking all for free.

Overdrive is all you need if you have an eReader or portable listening device. From here you can download audiobooks and eBooks onto your Kindle, Nook, iPod, etc for free!

 

Small Business Reference Center is your one stop shop for everything involved in starting and running your own business.  Learn business basics, write a business plan, and so much more with this convenient resource.
