Stop in and check out our selection of books for sale. To purchase just give a freewill donation at the front desk.

Who: Those who volunteered or participated in the Teen Summer Reading Program
When: Thursday, July 29th @ 5:30pm
Where: Gretna Public Library
Why: To celebrate all the successes of our reading goals and events! We have sent books & school supplies to Africa, water colored, enjoyed a scuba presentation, and viewed a movie. Not to mention, our book discussions! We read and reviewed the books: Nurk by Ursula Vernon & Dark Waters by: Catherine MacPhail.
Splendid work and involvement everyone!
‘Shipping Books Overseas’
May 24th
The Summer Reading Program theme this year is:
Make Waves @ Your Library.
Our first event that will take place is shipping books overseas for the Books for Africa organization.
When: Thursday, June 3rd @ 4pm
Where: Meet at Parish Hall
What: Sorting and packing day-we will meet at Parish Hall and choose the books we would like to donate, from there we will walk to the library and a member of the Gretna Friends of the Library will drive over our selected materials. Next, we will sort out books and school supplies. Lastly, we will pack them up to be sent off, adding some fun, personal touches!

Teen Advisory Board Feb. 9th

Come on in for our T.A.B. meeting at 4pm on Tuesday, February 9th. We will be discussing plans and procedures for upcoming programs and events. Shortly following, we will discuss the book club book: Things Not Seen.
Snacks and refreshments provided! Feel free if you have never attended to join usand decide if you would like to play an exciting role at your public library!
Book Club: Things Not Seen
Jan 14th
We will be reading for our book club: Things Not Seen by Andrew Clements. We have several copies available starting next week. If you would like to join in call and speak with Charlene (332-4480). We will have a book discussion at the end of our next T.A.B. meeting (Feb. 9th).

Our monthly Teen Advisory Board meeting will take place at the Gretna Public Library meeting room. We will be discussing upcoming events and programs. Also, we will get things in gear for our book club!
