Gretna Public Library Adult Services
Adults in the Gretna area are very diverse: parents, grandparents, singles, adult students, business owners, retirees, teachers, and residents of both Gretna’s assisted living and nursing home. We recognize these groups’ special interests, whether it’s information or entertainment, and have worked hard to develop programs, events, and resources that will appeal to their needs.
Part of Gretna Public Library’s mission is to encourage lifelong learning amongst our patrons which is a large reason why we strive to provide our adult patrons with great programs and resources. Programs for adults include storytelling, musical performances, author visits, historical narratives, computer classes, adult summer reading book club, and more. These events provide a variety of outlets for the community to encounter fresh ideas and gain new skills. The selection of resources we carry at the library meet both the educational as well as recreational needs of our adult patrons. Such resources include new book releases, online databases, a growing DVD collection, and even downloadable audio books!
